Garrett Dempsey
Director
Garrett Dempsey serves as a non-executive director & company secretary at Longitude and a number of Longitude affiliates. He brings to the company multi-disciplinary financial and project management leadership experience with multinational companies. Prior to his role at Longitude, Garrett was Finance Director and Company Director/Company Secretary for Valeant Pharmaceuticals Ireland. At Valeant, he set up a new legal entity and office as a supply-chain hub for this Canadian multinational pharma group, while managing all financial, treasury and taxation aspects of this Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)-compliant business. Mr. Dempsey was also a project manager with Valeant Pharma for Central/Eastern Europe.
Prior to Valeant Pharma, Mr. Dempsey was Financial Controller and Operations Manager with Biovail Technologies Ireland Ltd., the wholesale distribution division of Biovail Corporation, a Canadian multinational pharmaceutical company that merged with Valeant Pharmaceuticals in 2010. Here, he oversaw finance, audit, taxation, treasury, business analysis, risk and insurance, including inter-company agreements and transfer pricing. Mr. Dempsey also worked in finance and project management roles at Integrity Software, National Toll Roads, Xerox Europe and Area Life International, among others. Currently, he is also a non-executive director of the Irish subsidiary of a multi-national company.
Mr. Dempsey attended O’Connells CBS school in Dublin and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (Designation FCCA).
